From Shovelheads Bar in McAlester to chapters across the nation.
November 10, 2001. The first gathering of former Marines convenes at Shovelheads Bar in McAlester, Oklahoma, and agrees to join the Leatherneck Motorcycle Club International (LMCI). We are designated the Oklahoma Chapter. Founding officers: Poppy (President), Jamey (Vice President), and seven other founding Marines take the colors: Tank, Mo, Skippy, Buffalo Bob, Saw, Ranger, and Buckshot.
Summer 2002. The Oklahoma Chapter travels to a National Meeting of LMCI in Washington, D.C. After the meeting, the Oklahoma and Colorado Chapters decide together to separate from LMCI and form a Leatherneck Motorcycle Club of their own.
The S is dropped from "Leathernecks." Two blue stars are added to the top rocker to mark the formal disassociation from LMCI. The new Leatherneck MC flies with two chapters: Oklahoma Devil Dogs and Colorado Rocky Mountains.
The club grows to four chapters: Oklahoma, Colorado, Massachusetts, and Georgia.
The USMC bottom rocker is dropped and replaced with the Semper Fi rocker.
A club meeting is held in Atlanta, Georgia. The Oklahoma, Colorado, and Massachusetts Chapters leave that association.
Another meeting, this one in Colorado. The Colorado and Massachusetts Chapters leave the club. Only Oklahoma remains, and from this point forward the Oklahoma Devil Dogs are known as The Mother Chapter.
The background of the top and bottom rockers is changed to Midnight Blue. From here on the colors are Midnight Blue, Scarlet letters outlined in Gold.
The Eagle, Globe, and Anchor is formally retired. Sgt. Skully is adopted as the centerpiece: olive-drab 8-point cover, flame eyes, gray skull. The club takes the name Hard Corps Motorcycle Club.
A quarter century on the road. From Shovelheads Bar in McAlester to chapters across the country, Hard Corps MC marks 25 years. Semper Fi.
